stejjer
li kibru fl-art
(stories growing on the ground)
Stejjer li Kibru fl-Art is Immanuel Mifsud's first collection of stories for children.
Originally a personal present to a close friend's daughter, these stories have been published by Klabb Kotba Maltin (KKM) in November 2004. The stories deal with fantasy and are mostly written in prose-poem form.
Among the characters whose stories are related one finds the girl who went living on the moon; the muted piano; the ballerina dancing on top of a birthday cake; the love sick butterfly and Pietru the rabbit who refused to conform.
The stories were written during the author's short stay in Todmoos, a village in the Black Forest region, Germany, in 1999.
Stejjer li Kibru Fl-Art is magnificently illustrated by young artist Greta Borg Carbot.
